Andrew Alverson, my father, was injured on his job as a warehouseman in the early 60's. He was offered retraining by the State of Calif. in a job that he could perform with his injuries. He was trained as a furniture upholsterer under a Master Upholsterer at a state facility located in Stockton, California. He worked under this Master Upholsterer for several years before branching out into his own business. He started doing jobs for family and friends for free to hone his upholstering skills.

My father felt that furniture upholstery was a form of art so he taught his wife and each of his five children the art of furniture upholstery. With his wife and oldest son by his side he quickly established his business as a full-time operation in July of 1976. The business soon became one of the most professional, reliable, and finest quality upholstery shops in Stockton, California. Our clients have come from as far south as San Diego and as far north as Reno, all the Bay area as well as the Sierra's. 

We lost our beloved father several years ago but we continue the principles the business was built upon Honest, Integrity, and Fair Business Practices. Since the start of Alverson's, because of these principles, we have never had any complaints filed against the business with the Better Business Bureau.

Now allow me to introduce myself to you as the present owner of Alverson's Fabric and Furniture. My name is Freddie Alverson Sr. and I started my training as an upholsterer in 1965. I was certified as a Master Upholsterer in 2001. I will continue to work hard at keeping the standards and principles my father established. Customer satisfaction has always and shall always be a very important part of this business. Customer loyalty has been one reason we have been around for so many years and for this reason we hope to be here many more years as God will allow.

My brother Ernie and I, are known thoughtout the valley for our abilities to deliver the quality workmanship our clients expect from us. The furniture upholstery work is done in-house so that we can assure our clients that they are getting a quality job. The next generation is now being trained in the art of upholstery and quality workmanship. Please come in and allow us to serve your fabric, furniture, and upholstery needs.
